Veteran's Day 2017

I'm sorry for the post, it's fine to be deleted.

Please boycott all NFL games on this day. I personally am sick of the entertainment and promise under no circumstances, to ever watch Anthem protesters while they are "on the job".

Makes me totally sick!!

edit: 2017/18 and until the NFL just drops off!

I watch the Superbowl, only football game I see all year. Don't care for the NBA, although am a DIEHARD UNC fan living right in the middle of "Tobacco Road". All that said, it bothers me for folks not to stand for the pledge, remove their hat, etc. None of my family is military, but we honor our country and respect those that offer their life to protect it.

Every Friday before work, one of the fellows at work gathers in front of the US flag inside the shop with anyone who wants to join in a moment of silence followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. You might be surprised how many folks voluntarily participate in this.:beerchug:

My son played baseball in a Rec. league that played the National Anthem before the first game of the night. Getting those little ones lined up on the base line with their hat off was the easiest thing the coaches had to do.

I've got/had family who've fought for this country, and two stepsons that are active duty. I have NO "respect" for anyone who will not stand for the National Anthem, or the Pledge of Elegants.
The one boy was in Afghanistan once, and Iraq twice, and was just shipped out to Poland on "special mission". Leaving three young children behind, ages 4-10. If you can't respect what these men and women do for you bunch of spoiled millionaires, by standing for the National Anthem, you are dead to me.
Don't need you, never did, and never will.:beerchug:

Well!!!! might as well give my 2 cents on this subject.
I have pondered and pondered just what is it these people want. How? can they not see they are living in the Greatest Country in the world. How? can these spoiled brats say they are under privileged when they are multi millionairs. Not just these spoiled pro ball players, but the little cry baby people running around out here protesting everything.

If they had or would put on that uniform, lace up those combat boots, lock and load in a third world country that so many have went to, and still serving in, maybe they would have a different mind set. But they will never do that because most have no clue, or don't care, what kind of sacrifices have been made so they can live in the Greatest Country in the world.

As for boycotting Pro football, As much as I love the game of football, I will never watch another game as long as the players and owners show the disrespect for the country that has given them so much.

It is only polite to stand for the national anthem of any country. It does torque me to see them kneel, but I only see it in the news. I do not watch sports on TV. Can't sit still and the kids are always changing it.

The NFL is a cash cow. Turn off the TV to kill the ratings and STOP BUYING the sponsors products. Nothing will change it faster than killing the cow of cash!

I'll bet most of those overpaid bozos don't even know who wrote the anthem much less even be able to spell his name, and damn sure could not sing it or even know the lyrics, kind of like the legion of "so called" "singers" that you hear now days.

Seems they are always yowling and screeching everywhere one goes anymore. Ya can't even take a leak at the Wal-Mart multi holer Kohler any more in peace.
Every time I hear that noise I think, "Wow!, that chick must be in some kind of real pain"

I stopped watching football back in the day of Fran and Bart.

Rant over

I'm all done with the NFL. It should have been stopped last year when Brillo head started his BS :bash2:

Just throw the TV out. There's nothing good on anymore anyway. I read what NASCAR did, I thought that was awesome. As a fan, I've been done with the NFL for a few years now. My team since I was a kid is/was the Redskins. It started because I'm so tired of rich white people making a fuss over the name Redskins being offensive to native Americans, and well, the Redskins plain stunk out loud. I stopped making time to watch football when all of the concussion crap, stupid ticky tack penalties, and what not just kept getting more annoying to me. We actually got rid of TV's a few years ago, because most TV shows are just pure garbage that shouldn't be on the airwaves corrupting our youth. Now I have SO much more time to do other things, like work on cubs and clean my garage, chase my wife around the kitchen . You can't even watch a "safe" show anymore without not kid friendly commercials coming up without any warning. Now ads on online videos are like that. NFL players, coaches, execs are paid big bucks for our entertainment, and political statements are not entertainment. My kids don't have TV, and don't have devices to melt their brains, we may be different, but it's good to be different.

End of rant :beatdeadhorse:

Yeah I thought what Nascar did was great. From what I understand, several NASCAR team owners said Sunday they would not condone racers protesting during the national anthem, amid ongoing demonstrations by sports players.

There were no protests reported during “The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in New Hampshire, according to The Associated Press.

Former NASCAR champion Richard Petty told the AP that any member of his team would be fired if they chose to protest the national anthem. Petty now owns Richard Petty Motorsports.

“Anybody that don’t stand up for the anthem oughta be out of the country. Period. What got ’em where they’re at? The United States,” Petty said in comments reported by the AP.
Richard Childress, a former drive who owns Richard Childress Racing, said any protests from his team members would “get you a ride on a Greyhound bus.”

I say give the protesters a one way ticket to north korea !
