2166 repower question
 

I was curious if anyone has repowered a series 2000 shaft drive Cub from a single cyl. Kohler to a v-twin. I was told that a v-twin will sit higher therefore the drive shaft would not line up and would have to be modified plus a lot of other things going on. I am really interested in finding out if there are any direct bolt on repower options when the sgl. cyl. CH16S Kohler goes out on my 14 yr. old 2166 being that the rest of the tractor is in very good condition. Thanks in advance.:Thanks:

How many hours are on it now?

Thanks for responding. Right now it's @ 705 hrs. and is fully serviced every spring w/oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plug, air & pre filter, Cub hydro filter & topped off with Cub hydro oil. This year I replaced fuel line from tank to pump and replaced pto switch; it is running well and not using oil but concerned due to the age. For 13 years I mowed 2 places but liquidated so this year am down to only 1 place w/2 acres. Thanks again.
