Cracked frame 1512
 

Well on the last stages of my 3 pt hitch builds and was trying to figure out my next cub project.

Turns out one presented itself to me!

While looking at my 1512 I noticed a crack in the frame right at the end of the engine mounting plate. Looks like only one side cracked.

Time to pull the engine and weld the frame.

Is this a common place for the frame to crack?

I have never had one crack there, but with a diesel it does not surprise me. How many hours on the tractor?

Looks like it’s time to drill a hole, grind the crack, and weld er up. Hope you don’t find anymore but that’s not bad.

1,630+ hours. I purchased it used with 900+ in 2005 ish.

The tractor has worked hard most of its life. I know I have pushed it pretty hard hauling firewood, plowing snow, moving dirt.

:bigthink: Just trying to figure out why there and if I need to modify things so I won’t cause more issues.
