QA42 parts availability?

Looking at a nicer QA42 blower for a WF but it is missing the following parts

-chute rotation universal joint
-chute rotation handle
-chute rotation handle eyelet
-lift rod

Are these parts easy to come by?

A QA42 Snowthrower will NOT fit a WF Tractor.

Excuse my ignorance for not providing the correct part number. But I am infact referring to a QA snowthrower that will fit a WF.

That being said, I appreciate you looking out for my best interests.

Are you able comment on the parts availability for the above mentioned parts for a 42 inch snow thrower designed for a WF cub cadet of the QA series?

To answer your question....My QA 42A was missing the same parts. I made the chute rotation handle, chute rotation eyelet and lift rod. Xtreme has lift rods. Try one of the sponsors for the other parts. CCspecialties has the universal joint. I can send you the dimensions of the parts I made if this will help you.

A QA42 again....will NOT fit a WF tractor, unless it is modified.

AQA42A will fit on both a NF & WF Tractor.

Documentation well supports my statements.

It does make a difference in the model numbers, when looking for the correct parts.

As far as the parts, Check with the Sponsors at the top of the page, ie: Houtz

I have 3 of the 4 items that you are looking for. I don't have the Eyelet. However, I may be wrong, but I think a couple of them may be tractor model specific. When I bought my QA42A thrower there were some extra parts. There were 3 different lengths of the Lift Rod and only one was the correct length for my model 149. There was also two different lengths of the rotation gear shaft. Either one would have worked, but I don't know exactly why there was a short shafted one as well as a long shafted one.

Make sure you are looking at a QA42A as Roland mentioned. Also what tractor model you intent to mount it to as well as specific parts numbers for what you are in need of. If it is in fact a QA42A and you are in need of the items, pm me and hopefully I'll have something to help you with.

Mike

Thank you Mike. The tractor it's going on is a 169. The blower actually sold this morning so I will not be needing those parts after all but I will keep that in mind going forward.

Now the search begins for another blower

I know you said the blower already sold, but here is where you can get the parts.

Under "Single u-joints" choose zinc. Should be fine. I personally haven't used them. Probably other places you can get steel ones cheaper, but the point is, they are available.

JeffinPA can make you any of these items for the best price. His work is top notch, and price is unbeatable. He already makes some of them. (Maybe all....:bigthink:)

Yes, yes they are.

The drive shaft is no big deal either, even though some think it is. I can get a brand new one made. Already checked into it.

The ONLY thing that is tough to come by are the gears in the gearbox. I've chipped a couple, or bought blowers that were chipped in the last few years. Can't find a suitable lo-cost supplier for the gears.... yet. I do have a possibly outlet for used, still exploring that. I found another application that used the same gearbox. I'll spill the beans if I can find a stack of used ones, until then.... :Shhhh:

Well I'll spill some beans :biggrin2:
A tiller gear box can be used.
Although it is a different ratio,
a drive sprocket change on the thrower, and a pulley
diameter change on the gearbox input, can get it accomplished.
BTDT and it worked very well.

How about a gear box from a 582 special or a 1204? They look the same, does anybody know what ratio they ran?
