PTO Help

On the 1863 that I had recent bought I finally got it running, but there seems to be a pto problem. Before you start the mower and just turn the key on the disengage pto light comes on on the dash. If you flip the pto switch (before you start the mower) you will hear and click and the light will go off. You can also start the mower with the light on or off and then flip the pto switch and the blades will start, but as soon as you let the switch go the blades turn off. What should I look for hear to fix this?

IF.....everything is wired right and all devices are functioning correctly, then three things have to happen to start the tractor:
(A) It has to be in Neutral (Reverse Switch)
(B) Someone needs to be sitting in the seat (Seat Switch)
(C) The LH brake pedal has to be depressed. (Neutral Safety Switch)

I would suggest checking these things and/or devices out.

Well crap I bet you are right. When I started it last night I had it in neutral and brake depresses BUT didn’t have the seat on it. I’ll try it again when I get home with the seat on it and me on it.
