CCC 582- 2 lift springs?
Can anyone explain to me the difference between a Manual Lift Helper Spring
and a Implement Handle Helper Spring? Should I have both with a QA-42A mounted on the 582? http://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-c...helper-spring/ https://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-...helper-spring/ |
I don't know Roland. I'm thinking the short spring attaches to the lift handle itself, but the only lift assist springs I've ever dealt with were on my JD 214. All my Cub Cadets until the 582 have been hydros. I was won over to Cub Cadets while I had the JD 214 because the JD attachment prices got crazy & I had 1974 JD 140H3 before the 214 so shaft drive & prices of the IHs were a big plus especially after smoking belts on the 214.

I believe the first helper spring assist is for the IH built 45" snowthblower unit. The second item you listed is for the manual lift lever. You do not need the first item. I do, however, recommend the implement spring assist for the QA42-A snowthrower.

IIRC you also need the curved upper mounting brackets to mount a QA42-A to an 82 series. Others here know the part numbers and Xtreme Motorworks sells them.

Thank you Delta Cub. Both springs are listed under the tractor in Parts Tree. If I'm looking at the correct spring on the 450, they have different part numbers. Implement spring assist is definitely on the shopping list.
450 spring is 1st below. Cub Cadet 932-0262 (replaces 732-0262) Spring, Extension Cub Cadet 90543-C1 SPRING, LIFT |

Yes, I want to mount the QA-42A on the 582. I thought I would need the
https://www.partstree.com/parts/cub-...helper-spring/ I purchased the 582 w/ creeper with the intent of mounting the QA-42A & a #2 tiller on it. I wasn't aware I couldn't mount the tiller with an aluminum rear. Disappointed the PO sold it to me knowing what I wanted it for. I deal with Arron. Thanks Xtreme Motorworks |

10-4 on the spring, it's on my list.
I have researched mounting the #2 tiller on the aluminum rear and have run into a brick wall. Seems it can't be done unless I swap the aluminum rear for a cast iron rear. I'll probably look for a pull behind tiller that I can use with the factory hitch plate, or continue to use the 1450 & get the longer Sleeve Hitch Main Bracket Extended 3" from Extreme Motor Works. |
Here is video of member "Jeff in PA" using his 125 with an older style QA42 to throw snow.
