QL front hydraulic caps

Gents,

Where do the plastic caps attach on the other end ? I have one ring on the fitting as it seems it should be, the other will not reach in length to do the same on the lower fitting, Rings are only large enough to fit on the inner adapter to the fitting. Curios as to how Cub Cadet originally did it.

Tractor coming along, after I finish carb rebuild its time to fire it up. Next year in

winter time it will get its repaint.

Thanks

They don't go where you have them. Your best bet is to try and slip them onto the slide collar. Or just cut the tail off

Thanks for the reply, I know they do not go there, I could not find any good pictures on where they attach, I wanted to find out how it was done originally , there isnt enough room on the slide collar as it slides all the way back when disengaging a coupling and the rings are too small to fit over the back of the fitting, they only fit on the threaded adapter, but the lead is not long enough for the lower coupling. These were the caps from Cub Cadet using the factory numbers, but thats not saying much . I think they were originally yellow too.
Thanks
Carroll

I've seen a few that had those rings inside a cotter pin and the pin was through a small hole next to the fittings, when the caps are off they just hang there.

Thanks Tim,

It has to be something simple, Im hoping someone has pictures of an original set up , there has to be a definitive answer (s).

ps I converted to dual stick with factory parts , thats why Im curious on this.

next winter as I stated it will all come apart for the repaint.

This is how it is done with the cyclops series. A cotter pin holds the loops and is placed through the small hole next to the outlet openenings. Not saying it is right for QL's but it is clean.:bigthink:

Turns out that I happen to have a dual stick 1650 here and I just went and looked, no hole for a cotter pin and it doesn't have any caps.

IH used little rings with what appears to be sump pump float chain and metal caps. The rings were installed on the lines behind the front frame. Most dangled and were damaged and fell off.

I'm surprised you didn't read my post and then ask me about why I have a 1650 dual stick here.
