1772 Side panel spring pics
3 Attachment(s)
FrankF3 had sent me a PM about the spring placement on my 1772.
I saw no way to share pics in a PM, short of a web address. Photobucket has changed thier photo sharing guidelines, so I decided to post them here. |
Emails work best between others to share pics.
You will get the full resolution of the picture file. P.S. you should move your hose clamp closer to the radiator. |
Looks pretty much the same arrangement as the 782D

And Cub Cadet 882

And a Cub Cadet 1512.
Some brass or rubber inserts in those holes will keep them from wearing thru. |
And 1872. Oh, and my 782.:biggrin2:

Well, I finally got around to taking some pictures of my 1772 to compare what the springs look like on Mike's machine. There is SOMETHING DEFINITELY different! The side panel springs do not make a straight run from side to side as they connect to the side panels. They just about make a 45 degree bend as the hooks connect to the side panels on BOTH sides.
Any ideas?? Attachment 89716 Attachment 89717 Attachment 89718 Attachment 89719 MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy NEW YEAR TO ALL!!! |

Seems like you have some side panel/ front grill housing alignment issue that needs attention.
Is that an OEM spring as it looks chubby. |
Yes that is an OEM spring - about the 4th or 5th one. When the spring is not on, the panels rest as they should. When you put the spring on, it pulls up on the front of the side panels causing the gap you pointed out. Now the big question is what needs to move to get the alignment correct? :bigthink:

In the pictures at the beginning of this post, that tractor does not have the removable debris screen in place in front of the radiator, and the spring is setting down where the "handle" of the screen would normally be. On the pictures of your tractor, the spring is sitting on top of the screen handle.
I think! |
