Starting problem

On my 2072 the blue wire going into the back of the plug on the ignition switch seems to be loose. The tractor does not crank. If I push on wire it cranks. I have cleaned the plug and also put some dielectric grease but I still have to push. Whats the fix.

They are not that expensive, I would just replace it.

It is not the switch it is in the plug.

No, it's the switch. Loose terminal. When you push on it it makes contact.

You need this....

or this....

I should have been more clear, he was talking about the plug so I just thought he would think I meant to replace the plug.

Jonathan I thought the same thing so I pulled the switch out of my other 2072 which works fine and I have the same issue. If I put a little pressure on the blue wire just behind plug it cranks. Then I put the switch from the one not working into the second 2072 and it works fine.

Those Ebay deals are pretty good. I like the one with the pig tail.

I purchased these before.

Got to be a bad connection between the terminal and the wire. Get it apart and crimp/solder it.

Fair enough. Get a pigtail then! :beerchug:
