Picked up a 282
1 Attachment(s)
Saved this one from the junkyard today. I got it for $20, It has no engine, but I have one I can use, and it is missing the front axle. The hood needs some repair, but it isn't terrible. I just hope the transmission is good, I know they were a problem on these. Should be a fun project, now the 682 will have a red little sister.:biggrin2:

Update on this project. I got some sweet used Carlisle Ag tires at another junkyard for free!:biggrin2: I have removed the hood and dash tower to begin straitening out the dash (It was a little tweaked).

Looks good so far. I like the little ones, just too overgrown to use them!

Looks great! Want one of these myself one day.

Thanks everyone, I can't wait to get it up and running again, I have an 8hp Briggs from the 90's my buddy found at the dump I'm gonna put on it. It turns over and has good compression, so it should be a good candidate, I just need to go home and get it. I know where there is a 1720 parts tractor, which I will pull the front axle off of to use. Here are some pics of the tractor before I got it.

Good save! Keep us updated with your progress. Friend of mine has one he put a double seat on and drives it in parades and such.

Time to update this thread. I removed the transmission, and took it and the tires home for spring break. I got the rims painted and the AG tires mounted. I am pretty happy with the way they came out. I went and picked up the engine from my buddy. When he got it, it turned over and had compression, however, he decided to leave the engine outside without an air cleaner cover for a year:BangPC:.... needless to say the engine was stuck.:bash2: I pulled the head and found a little rust in the bore, and crosshatch marks in the rest of the cylinder. Oh well, it was a free engine.:biggrin2: I freed the engine up and I think it has enough compression to run. We'll see. I also went to the junkyard and pulled the front axle off the 1720 parts tractor. Lots of pics

Wheels and tires look good. Hopefully you can get it to run.

Keep going. It'll be interesting to see if your tranny is still usable.
