CCC at RPRU
So Red Power Roundup is in PA next year and I plan to be there and would like to take a whole trailer load of tractors with me. My question is if it's ok to bring CCC made Cub's to this event or is it frowned upon? I have a CCC made 782 I'd like to restore for the event and give it a way over the top paint job but don't want to waste my time and money if it's not ok to bring it. If I had to I guess I could just find an IH tag for the frame.

It's been years since I've been to a RPRU, but I'm pretty sure I remember seeing 782D's at them. Those were CCC tractors. I thought there were even later machines, like 1811's there too. I don't think a red 782 is going to be a problem. It was an IH designed tractor, no matter who built it.

I've been to the last 2 RPR, there have been CCC models there and proudly displayed, Cub Cadet Corp was in Iowa last year, they rented a Air Conditioned building and let other Cubs for display park there also
|
Don, I believe CCC HELPED pay the rent for the building.
I was pleased we had enough REAL Cubs to completely surround their corporate display and then some. No matter which way you looked while standing in their display, you were bound to see the older Cubs in the background!! And, one must be a member of the National IHCC to display at an RPRU. BTW, Iowa Chapter #5 netted enough $$ to fund our senior high school and 4-H scholarship fund for another 6 years. And the Fair Board said we were welcome back ASAP. They told us that the 2017 RPRU was the 3rd largest happening at the IA State Fairgrounds, other than the Fair itself! See you at Portage in July?? |
6 years , thats a good profit. for a good cause. I'll be in portage, trying to dicide if I want to go to RPR this year or not, its a pretty good hike

Great! I plan to mow with the tractor again this summer and collect some of the parts I'm gonna need during that time so I can get started on it during winter.

I don’t know if Alabama in June is going to be all that pleasant. |
Eh, it's kinda like people who bring up the 'Can I bring a Case IH to a RPU show?' which starts the debate of it's not really an IH even though it's a descendant:BlahBlah::BlahBlah: Typically one or two will show and it won't really get many looks. Your results may vary with CCC.

I felt that way at 1st when I brought IH Cub Cadets to their shows. Kinda like an ugly stepchild because they aren't red. You know, "if it ain't red, leave it in the shed!"
But I reminded a few folks, "Hey, last time I checked, all the pre 1980 Cubs said IH on 'em!!" |
I was one of the Co-Chairs of the 2013 Red Power Round Up. Cub Cadet Corporation was a part of that round up. We had an area set up where you could test drive a new Cub Cadet. Every show I been a part of welcome the IH Cub Cadets and the MTD Cub Cadets.
CCC donated $5000 worth of goodies to be used in the Cub Cadet area. Not sure if Cub Cadet is still doing the donation. |
