SGT 3PT Pics

Can someone who has a 2182 (or similar SGT) that has a 3PTH please upload a pic of the rear support plate? I'm used to the "beefier" upper link attachment on the regular 82 series 3PTH, and surprised of the simplified design on the SGT support plate. The pic of a SGT plate doesn't even look deep enough for the upper link to fit. What size diameter is the upper link pin?

For some unknown reason, the SGT upper link mount is smaller, and takes a non standard upper link. It uses a smaller pin. 5/8" IIRC, not 3/4".

I'd suggest cutting it off and changing the upper mount. A mount with 2 or 3 holes is better.

I never had a top link connection failure, and I think I used the top link more than most SGT owners,,,

The sticker on the seat is disorienting!

Great lift table, SGT and shop....

Yes, the top link is very wimpy on an OEM hitch plate and you won't find one that doesn't need modified to fit.

Bill Ruegg's hitch is much better and will take a standard cat 0 top link.
Attachment 92006

As Jon said, grind off the existing one and space it out to accept the standard cat 0 top link. You may also be able to use a top link from a 3k hitch. IIRC they are made different and should fit.

Top pin is 1/2'' instead of 5/8'' I put a flat 3/8 bar with a 1/2'' hole in it welded to a 1'' square tube with a 5/8 nut welded to the bottom and use the same lower link.
