K341 acr
I have a k341 that seems like the ACR is not working, read that only certain years are able to have the tab bent up without it breaking. That's a big problem for me because the serial number is missing. Is there anyway to get this thing to start without the ACR? Swapping this engine into my 106 and has been nothing but headaches. lol

The tabs could be bent on the older engines but I believe the k341 will be to new for that. I'm curious how you're putting that big of an engine in a narrow frame? I assume you had to notch the frame out? What makes you think the acr isn't working?

I had to put a smaller flywheel/bearing plate on it to make it fit and use a s/g instead of the stock starter. I notched the frame on this before and it did not work out very well (bent the frame) so I had to straighten it back out and reinforced it with some 1/4" angle. The engine will turn over a little bit then hit a wall then turn a little bit more, continuously. Pull the spark plug and it turns over great. With the spark plug in, it's very hard to turn it over by hand so I'm assuming it's the ACR. I lapped the valves and adjusted them before I put the engine in my cub

Did you confirm the acr was working while the head was off? You could have a bad s/g or a weak battery. I would pull the cam cover off and check the acr before going any further.

Just considering how hard it is to turn over by hand is what makes me think it is the acr and not somthing electrical

Decided to take the risk and bend the tab up a little bit, worked out great. Turns over like it should, even got the engine to fire a couple times lol

ACR
My 149 did the same as your tractor. Tab was not engaging the exhaust valve. Bent the tab up and it started right up. Shut it off and tried to restart. would not start. Tried to bend tab again and it broke off. Had to purchase another cam from a fellow member. Working great so far. Hope that your tab does not bend back down. Have a great day.
