New to me cub 124
3 Attachment(s)
Here's my new 124 I just picked up for 390 at auction Tuesday (also picked up the Brinly 3pt plow and disc separately for 120 and 50 respectively and a possible #4 cart w/ OH steel #1 lookalike for 35.) Has #1 tiller, blade, and mower deck. Must have been owned by a farmer because chains were tightened with baling twine, dash has been welded and clutch pedal been extended, mule drive has been welded too, and I'm pretty sure the blade has been broken too. Runs, needs a choke cable and will need new harness at some point. Tiller works, all gears work good.. Just ugly as all get out and has almost 170 degrees of play in the steering. But I wanted a narrow frame gear drive (well technically I do have one, my 72, but wanted a nicer running model and this one has lots of goodies. spring assist, headlights, and attachments.)
It's gonna be a long journey whether I restore it or just clean up and work it, but hopefully it'll be fun That oil is from us changing our truck's oil, not from the tractor. |
Congrats on the new Cub! :beerchug:
If you decide to restore it I have a NOS dash tin I'd probably sell. |
Good score on the Cat 0 plow.
Have you got a later model Cub w/Cat 0?? |
Looks like a good deal to me.
That’s some serious fading of paint! |
I like it!!.....Nice solid cub in its work clothes. The only thing that would be an immediate change for me would be that muffler. Looks like a definite burn hazard waiting to happen and it may have already cooked that air cleaner cover. Looks like it has the funky cold patina look with that cool, soft yeller color on her. Other than that....nice ride!! Glad you scored it.

We'll definitely be swapping them out for stock. There is an interesting sheen to the ol' gal. Thanks to everyone for the nice words. Looking forward to working with this old sweetheart for the next 60+ years. |
