So I meant to order blades for the 126 I picked up a few weeks ago. I decided to give my local mower guy a try. Its a small town owner operator type of place. I found the part numbers I needed here In OCC and wrote them down. Walked into the parts area of the place. Younger guy "maybe late 20'S" greeted me. I told him I was looking for some blades and I had OEM part numbers. He still insisted make and model of the tractor . I tell him its a IH cub cadet 126 and got a real funny look from him and he says WOW.. Thats OLD. Lets try your part numbers he says with a sound in his voice like he was already certain he would not be able to find the number or for that matter the blades. He pulled out a Rotary brand cross ref book and went to the cub page.. Boom! found the short and long blade in the book in seconds.. Looked in his computer.. WOW he says again. I have 4 of the short one and 2 of the long one. I said that makes sense.. 2 sets! Well. I only purchased one set from him as I figure her will most likely never sell the other set unless I come buy it LOL. So the amazing part.. The price was really great. 11" blades 10 bucks each and 17 bucks for the center blade! Guess the price in computer was most likely as old as the blades LOL.

Those blades were made about 30 miles from me in Glenville GA.. Rotary has a blade plant there..
We have an old family mower shop here in town that stocks almost every blade for every mower ever built.. They have been in business since 1954... The inventory of parts is unbelievable.. sadly the owners are in their late 80's and their kids nor grandkids can't and won't run the business.. not sure how much longer I will be able to get my blades there?:bigthink::bash2::bash2:

Sad sad thought.. Seems like kids today want no part of laborious industry having to do with anything from the past.. Buy new... throw away... buy another. Everything has become a bic pen. Well.. not everything but more than it should be IMO
