44A Deck on 126

Will the 44A deck from my 149 fit onto my 126 which now has a 42" deck? I'm not trying to put it on permanently, I just want to test how it cuts before I paint it to see if it needs spindles or blades or anything. And if it will fit, will it use the same belt as the 42" deck?

Short answer is no. It can, but not easily. Mods have to be made.

Ok, thanks. Just curious, will the 42" deck fit the 149 without mods? I've seen quite a few with that style of deck.
