How are your blades mounted on the Haban 190-374-100

This question may seem silly but I really want to know how you bolt up the blades on your Haban deck. Parts tree shows it one way, the manual I got with the deck shows it another way and 2 of the 3 Haban decks I own are mounted up different still. The third deck I have is missing #34 the blade retainer.

I wonder if this post should have been in the ATTACHMENTS section rather than here? Yep, I think I made a mistake. I'm sorry moderators, perhaps you will move it as necessary. Thanks, Steve

Both of mine have the larger washer in between the blade and the blade retainer. I've not had either deck apart yet, but my eyeball tells me that if it were mounted the Partstree way, the blade retainer would bottom out on the shaft and bend something. I'm going wth the large washer actually being a spacer, but I'm still pretty new to this.

I have the 325 (essentially the same here) and the Parts tree picture is how mine is. I don’t believe the washer goes in between the blade and retainer but manuals have been wrong in the past. The retainer i feel though is just that and the blade should be retained top and bottom as shown. Btw Roland has placed the cub cadet Parts look up link at the top of the page so you can go there as well.

I am no Web expert, but I'm pretty sure partstree gets the images and number information directly from the Cub site. Partstree works better for me from a mobile browser.

That is how 2 of my Habans have it - washer is a spacer between the blade and retainer. I also am of the opinion that mounting like partstree will wind up bending something (the retainer) if you get it to clamp the blade tight.

I'm new to the Haban mowers too, haven't cut any grass with one yet. I've been mowing with a 50" deck on the 1872 so far.

You are correct. Mines the same as you described. The blade will not tighten up without the washer in the location you described...
Or, you and I are exceptions to the norm.:bigthink: Worked for me since the very first day.:beerchug:

Did some more looking on this. I do not have index 34 on mine, lower blade retainer. Looks like they changed this on the 325 compared to the 374. The 374 uses a 1/2 x 20 x 1.5” bolt to hold the blade on and the 325 uses a 1/2 x 20 x 1.75” bolt with no lower blade retainer. All other parts in that area are the same p/n. I wonder if you guys can ditch the lower blade retainer and then put the big washer on the bottom. See link.

My 374 has the washer between the retainer and the blade. IIRC another washer on the outside as big as the one under the retainer.:Unknown:
