1050 grille emblem

I saw a brochure for the 1989 line up which includes the 1050 and non of the pics show a CCC emblem on the grille, the original grille had the holes for the emblem but there was no emblem on the tractor which isn't uncommon. So my question is, should this 1050 have an emblem on the grille or not and if not what year did they stop putting the emblem on?

If you would like the emblem, put it on. Certainly it is not going to hurt a thing.

The 1050 really intrigues me. Is it also the only model number that they also produced as an MTD 1050? Were there ever any other model numbers used twice?

No, the 1050 would not have had the emblem. According to my book, they retired that emblem (logo) by 1987.

What do you mean? The Cub Cadet 1050 was made by MTD.....
Technically the later model is an LT1050, so it's a different model number.

To add to what Jon said, if you want to look up info on the 1050 you have to search for "1989 1050" or all you get is pages and pages about the later lt1050.

Thank you for the info. I like the look of this solid grille without the emblem better than with but I would have put it on if it was supposed to have it.

Yeah, you probably are one of the few who likes no lights. I have a light panel to put on my 1050, because I want lights on it, but the grill housing tabs are busted off so I can't mount it. I have another housing... or I could fix the old.... but that's time consuming and I haven't gotten to it. I still have the blank top cover, but it fell out a long time ago. The tabs were broke out when I got it and I really don't know what was holding the screen in. When it fell out, it stayed off.

This topic is about "emblems" NOT lights.

:bash2:

LOL.. I actually knew that. But yes I was referring to the 1050 being used twice. I know they are 2 different tractors but what I meant was. I have not seen a new say LT1211 or LT1450.

And Tim, yeah.. when I searched I had to do that. That was sorta why I asked. It seems like the only model that you have to do that with.
