New tractor
7 Attachment(s)
I was at my Cub dealer last week, and he asked if I was still buying GT's. I was like, not really looking, why?
He said one of his customers has a 682 with a blowed up engine, and he wanted to sell it. So this morning, I went and looked at it, as it was only 20 minutes away. We made the deal, and I went back this afternoon and picked it up. BONUS, it's a local tractor. First one that I found, and bought with the decal still on it. Used to go there a lot when I was young with grandpa. So that was pretty cool.:beerchug: They've been locked up for a long time. Just can't remember what year. I asked the guy, how he knew it blowed up? He said he was cutting grass, and it just stopped.:bigthink: Okay, works for me...:biggrin2: So I'll see, check it out, and go from there. So here's some pictures. |
Awesome find. I bet it is not blown. I hope it is something simple.

I bet that thing is gonna look sweet after a wash and wax. Congrats!:beerchug:

Congratulations Zip! Nice find. I hope you find a clogged fuel filter or something simple.

pics in the PO's shop? Doesn't look like your place :bigthink:
Very nice looking machine. I bet you have it running in a day or two. So, if it runs and runs well, what are...….nevermind, shouldn't ask you a question I couldn't answer myself!:biggrin2: |
That is a fantastic looking 682. Congrats!
Hopefully nothing major with the motor. Replacement or does it have the original series 1 in it? |
yeah, I got my last tractor (sorry not a cub, it's orange) mainly for its rear PTO and tiller, since it was sold to me as having a "locked up engine"... a slight tug on the hydro driveshaft with a pair of channellocks once home told me different. The starter and its drive was all that was seized.... basically paid for the tiller (and "stole" that) and got the tractor for free....
even though it does have a Series I KT19, for that price I ain't complaining... it runs! that tractor with a "seized" engine just tilled up a good portion of my yard for reseeding.... between drought and crabgrass I didn't have much choice.... |
Wow Todd! You got a real gem right there! Appears to be a clean straight ole tractor!:beerchug: The original Gillett decal is super cool also.. I woulda had to buy it just cause of that sticker!!:biggrin2::biggrin2: IH built to boot!! You can't loose on this one! Bet there isn't much wrong with it!?:bigthink:
The red ones NEVER come up for sale around here! We had a huge IH dealer here for years.. they sold a TON of Cub Cadets.. but the tractor pullers have just about gobbled them all up for miles around.. Apparently the local dealer didn't sticker too many of them.. I have only ever seen one.. I have a one owner 1450 and 782 that came from the local guy but no stickers!:bash2: you'll have fun with this one!! Keep us posted.. We gotta talk soon!:callyou: Glad to see you still got the fever!!:biggrin2: |
Man that’s nice Todd and will clean up with little effort. Congrats. Seat looks almost perfect too.

Nice looking tractor! Congrats! Get some dealer sticker copies made and start slapping them on everyone you own or see.:beerchug:
