2182 cadet with 60" haban type deck

up to this summer I have ran automotive belts on my 2182 -- and they usually lasted 1 mowing season. this year bought Kevlar belts for deck and engine to deck drive. near the end of this mowing season -- problem with the Kevlar -- too long now out of adjustment on engine to deck drive. thought Kevlar belts did not stretch. running a b95 from engine to deck drive and no more adjustment left now. have a new deck pulley and idler pulleys appear to not be excessive worn but do not know standards for replacement. looks like a b94 -- next shorter belt for used is a logical next step. anyone out there running Kevlar belts on this equipment and have you experienced "too long belt" problem. would appreciate advise on this before purchasing more belts.

Where was the adjustment screw when the belt was new? Did you have to turn it in a long ways to get the belt on? You will have to be the judge on if you can get an inch shorter belt on.
Are you sure it’s stretch and not belt wear?
Mine usually give up and break before I’m out of adjustment on the screw

I have been running the vbelts4less this year on multiple machines. No complaints so far. I have the B94 on a yellow deck set up. None too long. Seems just about right. Never ran the B95 belt. Bet that would work also.

Same experience here with my 2182 and the white haban. Just bought belts from vbelts4less.

B112K and B91K

Both fit good and no issues. I was surprised how much faster my deck spins now. The old belt must have really been worn.

I run B series Industrial Dayco V belts on my 1782 and 2182 with the Haban decks.. no issues here.. on my third season with both.. Plus the local Carquest has them in stock.. I used to run Gates Kevlar belts but wasn't getting but about a season out of them

have good news and not so good news. the good news is my belt order came today ordered a b93k and a b94k. had been running automotive service belts b95 and getting marginal service even for a non-Kevlar belt. decided to try the short one first - b93k. got it on and adjusted - ran about 10 minutes and readjusted again. this is the first good adjustment I can remember since buying this mower. don't think a shorter belt would ever install on my mower. first year I have ran Kevlar belts and they appear to be a cut above auto service belts I have used in the past. used to be I could buy cheap belts local and replace ever year or two and think I was coming out ahead. last trip to the my local belt sales place was a wash out. the company was in hard times and finally found a set of belts that would work -- barely. I was forced to go the mail order route. price wise the Kevlar belts I am running now are cheaper per belt than the last replacements I bought local. don't know the quality of these Kevlar belts yet. the 60" haban type mower is a real load for a "B" belt in my opinion. the not so good news is I have a couple belts I may never use in getting the belt length established for good service.
