Got the Mars Sweepster up and running on my O. Needs some more refinements on it, but hey.....that's progress. Sure wish I had some brochures on it though.

Oh man that is awesome, I’ve been hunting a sweepster for years for any cub cadet wide or narrow, and you wish you had brochures? Wish I had one! Ha, but paperwork would be sweet. Looks especially cool on the original

Very cool! The Sweepster looks great on the O!

Looks cool, what will you sweep with it?

That's cool! I've never seen one for a Cub before.

Thanks fellas!! I'm excited that the little 3 hp Clinton engine is going. Probably not really had too many hours on it, though.

The reason I would like to have brochures on it is that it is the Mars broom that was manufactured for the O's that did not have the front PTO's on them, so it has to run under its own power. They weren't made for very long. It was missing the subframe to connect to the cub, so I used some snow thrower brackets to attach because I cannot find pictures of what the original subframe looked like. The guy I bought it off of has been collecting for around 20 years and he said he has never seen another one besides that one and the guy he bought it off of was the original owner who decided to sell it, but not the brochures that came with it.....go figure. It has welded brackets that leave it at a constant angle all of the time to the cub so it shoots debris out to the driver's RHS.

Well, I was thinking of sweeping crime off the streets, but I am not a superhero!:biggrin2: So I will probably use it to remove leaves and eventually my driveway if I ever get my cobblestones set in the ground.

I've only seen a picture of one in a brochure once, but did not save the picture and forget where I saw it at. The Mars one (the one on the O in the picture) was only produced for a year or so, then Sweepster produced one that ran off of the PTO on the cub. I have a later Sweepster on my 129 and love the job it does! It can even cut grass and makes clearing leaves EZ work and fun!
