What is the stub shaft for in the rear of the hydrostatic unit? I know he front one is for engine driveshaft

I don't believe it has a purpose on a cub cadet.

I think some other makes use it for some things.

ah yes. Good call.

Only on the supers though. Regular GTs only had PTO as an option on gear drives.

Well that was my first thought but I didn’t think any Cub Cadet had the PTO. I also didn’t know how it would actually “work” if one was connected there.

Of the IH built hydro Cubs, only the 982 had that as an option. There is a rear mounted assembly with belts and pulleys and a clutch back there.
