Changing Hydro Fluid
1 Attachment(s)
Newbie question of the day.
What do I need to do to change the hydro fluid on my super? I believe it has a 1572/1772 rear end. The fenders and fuel tank are from a cyclops. I can't find a drain plug anywhere. I assume the rear cover will have to come off to drain the fluid? 3 point and rear PTO make it a little more challenging... P.S. - ignore the tin can next to the super :biggrin2: |

It has a drain plug in the front bottom next to the suction tube below the filter.

If it were me I first would be sure to get a new proper filter and hydro fluid. If after draining the tranny any milky colored fluid would prompt me to remove the rear cover and really clean out the cavity. I use a thin plastic tube down the fill tube which makes filling a bit easier. It mostly cures the burp back of fluid making a mess of tractor and person.

Thank you Sam and Paul. I will call the local Cub dealer to see if they stock my filter and a couple gallons of HyTran. The manual states 8 qts. capacity. Does this sound right?

7-8 qts of fluid this is a list of approved filters, most can be found at your local auto parts store.
