original ignition switch
I bought an original about a year ago. The ignition switch (on/off) was a push/pull instead of a key. I have finally decided to change it to a key, like it is supposed to be. The switch I pulled off looks like a headlight switch. On the front of the switch, it says out-run on the top, and in-stop on the bottom. was this original to the CCO instead of having a key switch, or is this a headlight switch (mine does not have the headlight option). Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Not original...the CCO has a keyed on/off switch like the 70/100.

thanks matt, thats what i thought. just confused me when i pulled the switch out and it was stamped IH.

If that is an old headlight switch, then it could fetch some decent $$$ with the labels still intact on it!

It could also be an ignition switch off of a Cub, A, B, C, H, or M tractor.

it has a couple of part #'s on it. first-8540-da, next is t-2-ih(international harvester symbol) thanks for the help, and interest in this.:American Flag 1:

good to know, i am not having any luck finding the switch locally. thanks

I have 2 or 3 "new" keyed switches for the original but I haven't had time to even put one of them on my own tractor, let alone to find them in my pile of parts that I have tossed to the side. I think mine are for the later model originals....not for sure.
