38 inch deck for 86
 

Hi, I have a 1971 Cub Cadet Model 86 that I am restoring. I had to scrap the deck for it due to rust through. I am looking at a replacement deck but not sure if it will fit. It is a model #38A S/N 0320016U100874*.
Does anyone know if it will fit my '71 Model 86?

If the pic is the actual deck and hanger....yes that set up will fit your 86!

Well, I missed out on purchasing a 38" mower deck for my 86. I found another deck, this time a 48" that May work. the ID stamp reads 183U-1111. Anyone know if this will fit?

No such model. I am assuming it is a 483U-1111,

With that in mind, yes it will mount. Make sure you have the correct Mule Drive.

That 8 horse is gonna have to work pretty hard to turn that 48 in wet or deep stuff. Do you have a creeper?

I think the best option would just be to not go with a 48 on an 86. That would probably be strained the whole way through the lawn.
