Rage 2 saw

I picked this up about a year ago and I have been using it to make my columns in the new shop. I had an abrasive chop saw but it got carried up to the road with a "Free" sign after using this.

Here it is cutting my 4"x4"x1/4" columns. Not too shabby for under $200 at Home Cheapo.

Nice, be interesting to see how long the blades last :beerchug:

Jeff, they say that 1 blade will last as long as 20 abrasive blades will. Time will tell. I think this is the cheap version sold at the box stores so I don’t expect much for the price.

Those things are amazing! I'll never go back to an abrasive one. Far less sparks. Better cut. And doesnt seem to I produce as much heat.

I cut a 1/4" slice of the material in another vid and picked it up with my bare hands right after I cut it. Basically there is not much heat put into the material. It cuts pretty square too but I did need to grind the bottom of each cut to get it close to perfect.

How's the saw holding up? :bigthink:

No fun throwing sparks in the summertime heat :bash2:

No complaints about it so far. When I built my floor drain covers it worked awesome. I set up a jig and cut all the pieces and then welded them up.

When I cut my 4"x4" steel columns I did have to grind the bottom of the cut to get it a perfect 90*. It looks like the blade flexed as you reach the bottom of the cut but that was some pretty big and heavy stuff.
