1050 Project
I won 2 auctions on the FB page. $25 apiece. One for the hood and side panels and the other for a 1050 minus the rear end. Motor looks clean, turns, and has compression. I have a cast rear to put in. The DC and Baltimore beltways wore me out and pictures are too big to upload to the forum. Maybe tomorrow.

Send the brackets to PBJ so he can make repops for others, I bet those beltways made you dizzy...

I will see if he is interested. My head is still spinning. That may be the 6er I downed since I got home tho.:beer2:

Looks like a fun project. Keep us updated.

I got the trans on temporary and did some cleaning this morning. I may pull the steering column out and tighten it up later. Gonna get my initial parts list made up and stop by the cub dealer tomorrow.

Looks better with four tires on it.

I like seeing that the clutch came with it, that’s half the battle IMO. Mine had everything minus the clutch and had to buy the special spacer and throw out bearing, thanks to Tim aka Olds for the drive shaft, and I used wide frame disks and spring, etc. to complete it. That’s cool that you put the cast iron rear end in it. I’m hearing that an old cast rear with internal brakes will work too as linkage hooks up/adapts easy. Nice job Travis.
PS that’s some shifter! |
Thanks Alvy, I did forget to ask if he had the clutch driver. That's the only piece I am missing other than the seat pan, springs, and seat. I have found the oe clutch driver, but it is 3x what I paid for the tractor. I may go with the Xtreme or Kerber for half the price. To start I will see how the NF driver I have works. I know that the 82 driver is cupped and uses the ball bushing. Not sure if the regular bushing will work well with a rubber mounted motor.
That shifter is not my work. That was on that trans I got from the 122 that was a "stretched" wheelbase. Let's just say it only had 4 bolts holding the rear to the frame. :bash2: The bright side is it almost fits this application perfectly. I need to bend it up just a hair to keep it from hitting the bottom of the cut out when I put it in R or 2nd. Now for a question... Were there any differences between the NF, WF, or QL castiron housings? https://i.postimg.cc/SxQTKsHX/IMG-20...-193336098.jpg |
