Seeing Orange

So, I've kept my eyes open for the past few years, waiting for a good deal to appear on a Kubota B series with a loader and Bush Hog. It finally happened a couple Saturday's ago. Found a 1995 B7100 HST 4x4 w/FEL with 650 hours and a Woods RM400 finish mower. This was at a Green dealer, and I told the salesman I really wish it had a 4' BH, and he says, I think I have one in the back. It was old, but I got him down $500 on the original price and still throw in the BH and delivery.:beerchug: The past two weeks I've been tearing down the BH and Woods for cleaning, maintenance, etc. They are both in good shape. The Woods in really good shape, the BH in good shape for it's age, but it's going to sit on a couple 4x4's on my hunting lease until I'm ready to cut trails and mow our roads. I still need to do a full maintenance on the B7100, oil, filter, hydro, filter & screens, fuel filter and coolant. Hopefully done this weekend and ready to plan some cutting and other projects around the house with the loader. I sadly sold my 1862 to a good friend and he loves it, and I still have (& plan on keeping) my 982 for snow blowing and tilling duty. Since the Kubota has the loader, taking it off and installing a blower would be too much and I already have the 3 pt tiller, so no need to buy another for the Kubota. Here's a few pics:

Congrats on the all purpose tractor. I have had a Wood RM59 for 38 years and it was used when i bought it. 4 or 5 belts, 3 sets of blades, a few pulleys with bearings. Never any spindle work. Keep it greased. Metal started to thin and i welded some angle across the front a couple years ago. Mike

The chute on the Woods mower had a tear and was a bit deformed. I welded up the crack, sanded and painted last night. New blades should be here in a day or two and it's ready to go. Since the BH was generally FREE, I was just going to lube it up and set it out at the property, but now I'm having second thoughts about putting a quick coat of Rusty Metal Primer and Rustoleum on it to help preserve it since it's in good operable shape. Oh well, its all good time in the shop.

Congrats on the Kubota. My BX gets used more than my Cubs do.

Good looking JD & Woods mower.

So, I've finally identified my Brush Hog as a Befco. Can't find much about older models, but there was part of a sticker with a capital 'B' and I could just make out Befco. The blades were like new, removed, cleaned up, lubed up, and replaced. It's in the shop with a coat of Rusty Metal Primer and I decided to paint it white. I wanted IH white (I have a 50" CC deck that needs painted also), but TSC didn't have any Rustoleum. Gloss white it is! Got my new PTO shaft cut to size and I'm hoping to have it done and dropped at my property this upcoming weekend. The woods mower got 3 new blades and a quick test on Saturday. All lubed up, cleaned up and ready to go. Once I get the paint on the BH, I'll turn my attention to changing out all the fluids in the B7100 and I'll be good to go for a while.

Nice looking Deere!

Here's a before, during, after pic of the Befco rotary. (Plus a full shop with the 982) Just wanted some paint on to protect it from the elements. I added a little acrylic enamel hardener I had laying around. All I can say is that it's got a nice, hard protective layer (and that's about it :biggrin2:) And that it's almost ready to use.
