Gt 2550 deck spindles
How difficult are these particular spindles (Gt 2550) to recondition/rebuild for a bloke who has a limited skill set when it comes to things mechanical , I also have 2 left feet so not a good dancer and my green thumb passed away from lack of care
I have a parts manual so it shows the exploded view , are they worth repairing or just by new ones Oz |
I'm thinking those are the same as the old styles. The ones that use front wheel bearings from old Chevys. If so yes, bearings and seals are cheap. Check spacers for wear if it has them in between. Mike

This is the link to the Cub parts for the spindles
https://www.cubcadet.com/equipment/A...8-5841d1d158a4 I would rebuild them. |
Chevy bearings woohoo , yes that is the correct one Sam ,
Are they worth rebuilding for $40.00 approx or new spindle $100.00 for a bloke who as mentioned has good looks but no mechanical skill (lol) Oz |
Your $$$ you make the call.

I was thinking about a Go Fund me page or a Govt grant Sam but all I really need is a bit of mechanical advice

Check ebay, LM11949 and LM 11910 they come pretty cheap in the states.
And as mentioned, most Gm vehicles used them before we went to front wheel drive vehicles.:beerchug: |
Okay so bought new spindle housing and mounting screws $90.00Aud , will instal and rebuild old spindle for a spare
