Help! Broken Brake Spring Not Available
I have a 90’s vintage model 1300. The spring that attaches to the rear of the brake rod broke. The spring is Cub Cadet part 1767884, which does not appear to be available anywhere. Does anyone know of a suitable substitute or know the specs for the spring? Thanks.

If you can get the specs or measure the spring, McMaster-Carr has an assortment of springs you can order. If you can’t find one hope this helps.

First, welcome to OCC ----- :Welcome2:
It is a Brake Pedal Return Spring. Maybe your local Ace Hardware would have something that would be similar and work. |
Thanks for the replies. I only have part of the spring and don't know where the other end attaches to. So I was looking for specs so I can try to match it up. The one end has an extended hook - haven't seen many of these in stores or catalogs. Again, I'm not sure what is on the other end.

Get a similar spring from a hwd store paying attention to the wire diameter.
Then you can add a extension to the end of it by making a hook from heavy wire. or you can straighten the spring wire by uncoiling it to make the extension. it only has to retract the brake peddle, it is not rocket science. :beerchug: |
