1863 Battery

I just picked up an 1863 from my neighbor and it needs a new battery. I have seen that some guys are running automotive type batteries (700cca) Which group (size) are they?

First, welcome to our Forum.......... :Welcome2:

I, like a lot of guys, will measure the size of the battery tray or compartment, and buy the largest CCA size of battery that will fit.

You don't need a car battery to spin that thing over...A 375CCA Lawn and Garden battery works great, and I've used the 200CCA ones a lot, too, even in the winter.

I have the 1811 same Kohler Magnum engine I beleive as the 1863. Put a Champion U1-3 in mid 2001 and its still working fine. 365CCA at 32 deg. It was about $39..
