Not so new member from Texas

Hello-
After following this site for several months I finally registered in October 2009 and have continued to learn from you guys ever since. My FIL purchased a 149, a 1973 model, with snow blade sometime in the late 70's or early 80's and it was used to mow and blade snow at his home and gas station in Missouri until his death in 1993 at which time my wife and I became the proud owners. It has continued to perform faithfully up there ever since with only minor maintenance. After spending time with this site I decided I had to have one in Texas. First it was a running 1450, then a 1250 with bad rod, and then a 1000 which has not been started yet, and lastly another running 1250. I still want another 149 but need to wait a while for the dust to settle.

This sickness follows a 40 year (or more) affection for Model A Fords, followed by 8N and Jubilee Ford tractors and Cushman motor scooters.

Thanks for the great site and all the information you guys are so willing to share. I did post a question about mower drive belts for a 1320 on another thread.

From the sound of it you have collected an assortment of cubs.
These older models are great machines. I think of mine as a classic car much like people who are car crazy .
