So when can I expect an intervention?

My wife said I am nuts. I drove 360 miles round trip for this one today. The price was great it’s a one owner tractor who’s owner passed away. I got a 44C deck, a wide snow blade, and the tractor with side covers (they’re in the car). The only bad thing is it’s a Series 1 KT. I don’t know the status of that yet but I’ll figure it out. I was going to add hydraulic lift to my 682, with a pump swap, but instead this fell onto my trailer today. It looks to be complete and the paint is good, it needs a bath.

Some more photos. What’s up with that air cleaner housing? I’m used to the round domes.

Front tires are pretty new looking

Steve,
What a buy, did you get any wheel weights?

mortten 06-23-2019 10:09 PM

Coming up on 413 hours or 1013 hours.

You know if it was at the house I picked it up at, which he said his mom lives there, it looked like a pretty small yard. 413 hours is realistic. It looks very well maintained and clean (except for the dirt from sitting) the engine is clean, I can see right through the vanes to the shroud. The deck is spotless underneath.

I was tinkering with it to see if I could get it to run. I turn the key and the gauge went down. But no click. I went right to the solenoid and touched positive to the key switch wire and it made a little spark but nothing happened. So I swapped that out and now we have starter engagement. It turns over smooth, I don’t hear any noises. I had no spark. So I cleaned the points. Now we have spark but still no start. I pulled the carb and had a hard time getting the bowl nut off. Inside was bone dry and full of corrosion. I checked the fuel pump and we have fuel. I have a spare carb I’ll try tomorrow but I don’t see any reason why it won’t fire up at this point. I’m Wiped our from the drive and calling it a night

Nope not with this one. It’s possible he had them and didn’t know what they were. While I was getting my straps out he came out carrying the deck on his shoulder. Yes you read that right. And he said he thought this went with it. I went there only planning on getting a tractor and plow. The deck was a bonus.

784? It says 782 on the side, and no front outlets.
