Hydrostatic line

I maybe looking to purchase another narrow frame cub . Would prefer a hydrostatic. Currently own a 123 . Couple of questions

Is this list complete :bigthink: : 123 (1967), 125,(1968) 107,127,(1969) 147(1971)

I would guess everyone has a personal favorite ( first owned ) , but if you could lay your hands on a IH built cubby which in your opinon is the best year .

You missed the 105, which is the same as a 125 but with a 10 hp. Too bad you weren't closer to Missouri - I'd sell you my 125.

Here's the complete list of narrow frame hydros:

123 - 1966 to Nov. 1967
105 - Nov. 1967 to Aug. 1969
125 - Nov. 1967 to Aug. 1969
107 - Aug. 1969 to Aug. 1971
127 - Aug. 1969 to Aug. 1971
147 - Nov. 1969 to Aug. 1971

List compiled from ihcubcadet.com

I'd have to choose a '71 127 since it's what I own. :) But probably as far as the "best" NF goes....147....

I was thinking the same thing , even though I own a 123 . It is more refined electric lift and 14 hp . yet still has the quality build of IH . IH made great lawn mowers in the 60"s and 70"s { Kohler engine } but man they made crappy 4 wd vehicles I had a 1966 Scout . bought it used in about 1974 . I was always buying motor mounts and transmission parts . Sat more in my driveway getting fixed then was on the road driving . I guess two separate divisions of a big company .
The lawnmower rocks the Scout knocks . :bash: Was happy to see that Scout go .

i had several conversations with a true blue cub repair man who has passed, i have a 125 and he said they were good but the following line were a little better if for nothing but to work on. after the 125 the next and last versions of the narrow frame had the removable tunnel to give you better access working on it and you also have the external disk brakes. if you are looking for power there is no difference between the 127 and any previous 12 hp version

life is full of choices :BB&YS:

bsyphrit, no narrow frame had the removable tunnel cover. The wide frames had the removable tunnel covers.

and there is basically no differance in power when u compare the 12hp to the 14 hp ! sure there is 2 hp differance and about 1 ftlb of torque differance

I've had 2 Scouts, a 69 and 71 4wds. Both needed proper maintenance and what not, but were solid and would go anywhere. They were 2 of the best vehicles I've owned. They are getting scarce but I would like to find another 69 IH truck 4wd and swap in a 99 Powerstroke. You know an International powered by International!:biggrin2.gif:

All the ih trucks my dad had were tanks. Couldn't kill the things. The scouts would crawl through anything and his pickup with the 392 would pull anything
