I assume this is a fixed (not replaceable) seat valve - how do you clean it? Q-Tip, pipe cleaner? My little rubber tip was bent to one side and both the needle and seat bore are corroded. It ran that way but not well especially on the side of a hill (side to side tilt) it required pulling full choke to keep it running. |
The carb parts came yesterday and I put it together last evening but I ran into another problem or two. I started another thread on the fuel pump questions I have - I hope there will be some answers there soon.
Once the engine started oil or oil & gas erupted from the crankcase breather hose maybe 3 or 4 inches above the air cleaner base. I'm glad I hadn't put the new air cleaner on it yet. Probably an oil and filter change before trying to start it again but what caused this to happen? I need your help, please, Steve |
After replacing the carb bowl needle and cleaning the bowl and fixed seat the tractor did start up and run but then the volcano of oil and gas erupted - shut it down.
I decided to try a new aftermarket duel jet carb on this tractor. I couldn't be happier about this EXCEPT the choke arm on the new carb was pointing in the wrong direction, 180 degrees from where it needed to be and this lever also needed to be longer to provide the same throw as the Walbro. Dan (a neighbor) and I made a little lever to accomplish both short comings and I pop riveted it onto the new carb choke lever. Works as it should! |
Thanks for keeping us up to date.
