38" Decks for Cub 149
 

I have 2 38" decks for my 149 cubs. Decks are different. I am trying to get correct #'s before ordering mule drive belts, deck spindle belts and blades.
Looking in the tech. section , I have come up with the following:
Mule Drive Belt #490-489-R2
Deck Spindle Belt # 473-468-R2
Outer blades #490-470-R1
Center blade #490-476-R1

Deck #1 Model#382-U1111 It definitely is 382. It has no wheels, Flat shaped skid bars on each end and one side discharge chute is blocked with a bolt on plate.

Deck #2 Model 38-U1111. It has wheels that fit inside the rear tractor tires. It has rounded skid bars on each end and both end discharge chutes are open.

All help will be greatly appreciated.

The 382U1111 is the newer deck and I would devote my attention to that one.

490489 R2 BELT, MULE DRIVE, 38" [for tractors with s/n <529,999]
473468 R2 BELT, SPINDLE DRIVE 38"

490476 R1 BLADE, CENTER 38", BLADE HARD SURFACED.
490470 R1 BLADE, OUTER 38", BLADE HARD SURFACED

Thank you R Bedell. The newer deck will be going to the 149 that I am almost finished refurbishing. It was on another 149 that I started letting my neighbor use to cut his back yard. I wanted to swap decks to get ready to start working on the newer deck. I was afraid my neighbor might hit a stump and do some serious damage to the new deck. I used the old deck a couple years ago and it cut well even though it looks terrible. He cut with the 149 two weeks ago for the first time and I didn't think he was going to give it back. He just kept going over where the grass had already been cut. Smiling from ear to ear. Just something about those old tractors. Will those numbers work for the old deck as well? The blades should be the same.

It would take a lot of time to go and look up all the part numbers for all the generations of 38" decks.
