Tire Recommendations

I have a little 2518 that I’m considering putting a set of AG/LUG tires on the rear. It currently has a set of the Carlyle turf saver 23x9.5-12 tires on it that are somewhat dry rotted but still usable and I was going to mount some AG tires on a spare set of wheels to be used when conditions get wet and soggy. The closest AG tires I’ve found so far are 23x10.5-12 but I think that size should work ok. So, I would like to hear everyone’s recommendations and experiences with the different brands of AG tires on our Cub Cadets. Thanks,

I would agree. There aren't that many brands of GT Ag Tires. Carlisle seems to be popular ( I run these too) brand. Look for the style & price range that best suits your needs.

It depends on how much cash you want to spend. IMHO here is the best AG tire available but they are also by far the most expensive.

Thanks for the replies. I’m not looking to spend a large amount of money on the tires. As I said I probably won’t even run them all the time. I had looked at the Hi Run that Tractor Supply carries and had seen a brand called Deestone on line but know nothing about them. I’m really just looking for something to get a little better traction in wet conditions and hopefully that “old fashion” farm tractor look about them and not break the bank getting there. Thanks,

Deestones are pretty popular. You can get a pair for tad over a $100. There's a lot of guys on here running them and are happy with'em....:beerchug:

Just talked to a guy on here who likes these a lot, BKT Trencher. Somewhat similar in profile to the Carlisle Tru-power. The 23x8.5x12 are $101 on here:

The 10.5 are going to run another 50+ or so bucks.

Thanks again to everyone for their input. Both the BKT and the Deestone have the look I want and based on the recommendations of this board I will probably go with one of them. At this point it really just depends on which one of them I can find for the better price. Thanks,

I got the Hi Run ag tires for my 1512 from TSC, and I'm very happy with them.

Allen, I did see your tires and asked about them on another thread a week or so ago but didn’t want to hi-jack the thread so I started this one. They do look really nice in the pictures and I’m glad to hear you are happy with them. I would like to thank everyone for their posts and encourage everyone to post pictures of their Cub Cadets with the AG tires. Let’s see what ya got! Thanks,
