Carburator for a 169
 

I recently picked up a second 169. Idles great but bogs down under a load and will spit gas out the carb for a second or two when increasing the throttle. I have reset the governor and cleaned/adjusted the carb. The carb is a Walbro which I have never been a fan these. I am thinking it needs a different carb and saw the aftermarket carter type ones on amazon fairly cheap. Anyone bought one lately with good results?

Also check your timing.

And your condenser.

I have a IH Cub Cadet 149 with a china carb on it. Tractor runs good with the china carb on it. I would install a Auto Lite spark plug and use some Marvel Mystery oil in the gas.

I had one on my 129. I put it on halfway through last mowing season. It ran good until the tractor sat most of the winter. In the spring it started leaking, I thought the float was sticking. I cleaned it a few times, and it never stopped. I just rebuilt the original and haven’t had any problems since.
