Hello from Ohio

Well, after several years of dealing with a leaking transmission on my 4 year old deere and a not so helpful dealer. I have been looking for something more reliable and better built. I found Cub Cadet. I told a co worker about my troubles and was looking for a older cub, thats when he told me that he had a 108 and could get back a 128 and I can have them both! I am hoping to get them home in the next few weeks and getting them running again. The 108 has been in his barn sitting with a bad clutch for a long time and the 128 was given to a friend of his. That man was going to build a puller, but it has been sitting for years in the corner off the garage due to bad health and no time. I was told it just needs a clutch and has a problem with the steering and the bonus is a snow blade.
I have a question about a IH CC 482. I can get one really cheap, but I read the peerless transaxle needs to go. Is the frame the same as on the 582? I think I can get one from a parted tractor.

Sounds like your headed in the right direction. I clutch rebuild isn't to bad there are several post here to help you out. MattG has a great tool to compress the spring that will make the job alot easier then how the service manual suggest doing it.

Be for you get them home got to the techincal section of the site and download the manuals for your cubs. If you want to hold on to your manuals vist our sponser Binder Books at the top of every page.
