124 creeper drive
 

So I was pulling my mott mower with my 124 this afternoon and the creeper popped into neutral a couple of times. I put it back into gear and kept going. Now the tractor will not move at all in any gear hi or low. The clutch seems fine and all the roll pins are still in the drive shaft. I'm guessing my creeper drive decided to leave me. What do you guys think? I have parts to put it back together as a regular 3 speed but the creeper is kind of handy.

I think your creeper left you because it need a rebuild.
Remove and replace any worn or broken parts. PBJ makes parts for creepers.

I can repair certain parts too in addition to making parts.

I’ve had this happen a couple times. The roll pin for the selector lever works it’s way out. I’ve been lucky in a pinch and pulled the drain plug out of the creeper and the rollpin is right there. A visual inspection if this is the case will show you if this is the issue and you can fit a punch in there and tap it back into place for a temporary fix

Well I split the 124 today which isn't much fun with the creeper, sleeve hitch, and spring assist. Just as was suggested once I got it all apart the roll pin was out of the selector lever. I don't believe it has any other problems so I'll be ordering a new gasket this week and attempting to put it back together.

Good to see it is a easy fix. I have seen some with a piece of wire tied around the pin to keep the pin from coming out of the shifter arm.

It appears that my pin has been brazed at some point in the past. I'm thinking I'll put a new pin in it and maybe try to wire it in. I really don't want to pull it apart again.

Blown creeper
 

Need some help on a 124 creeper. A previous owner removed the three planetary gears because the unit has a bad internal ring gear. Does anyone rebuild these things? All the internals are OK and I found a good set of planetary gears to replace the missing ones. It seems it might be possible to bore out the old ring gear and replace it with a custom made gear. Not sure of cost but might be worth it considering cost of new creeper. Any thoughts?
