"nother new guy...
Hey Guys,
Name is Steve, Gadgetry is the hobby, or lifestyle I guess. I grew up on a farm, driving Farmall and International. My Father and Brother still run the farm with all the old Farmalls and a few newer Red ones. I decided it was time to get in the "tractor club" with them, but a Cub is as big as I could validate, and this one is quite large for my little yard but what good is life without a bit of indulgence! So, about a week ago I picked up a 147 http://i162.photobucket.com/albums/t...Cub/cub147.jpg Along with it came a rough looking 42" deck. Needless to say, I've now gotten familiar with all the workings of the deck after a full rebuild, straightening and welding of the broken spindle housing. After a week of tinkering with the tractor, the steering box is rebuilt and much better, and now with the deck installed, on to solving the last few issues, so I can go cruise around the yard and accomplish something other than just driving and smiling! ( Funny how the neighbors look and stare if you just go drive circles around the house for the fun of it! ) |

Thanks guys!
And... I've heard that one turns into another, when it comes to cubs? Got a call from my neighbor this morning, he's got a friend that I guess I owe him his favorite beverage.... and gotta go unclutter his garage! :biggrin2.gif: |
Welcome to the forum!
A 147 is a great first cub. I would like to add one to my collection as well. :beerchug: Randy |

Go get those other Cubs and shoot some pics!! Good looking 147 you have there. Did it come with the bottom U bracket for the IH 3pt? Welcome! Keith |
Welcome gadgetman , Nice looking tractor! Funny, when all is running good around here my neighbors can't be seen or found. But if I even run out of gas... there they are, giggling. I live in "da city" and don't have a lot to mow but my back is a good enough excuse to hook up the deck. I do however have about 200 ft. of sidewalk plus a 12x25 drive I have to remove snow from. And around the Great Lakes that adds up. I'm looking forward to your posts.
