1863

New member here in Wisconsin.

I inherited a 1997 1863 with mower and blower and was using it when the PTO bearing pulley cover came off, and I noticed bearing damage. How does this assembly come off? It has a square backing plate, 2 bolts bottom with what looks like 2 nuts on top. Can the bearing be replaced easy? I was looking at upgrades for the 717-3340/917-3340 and was wondering how they attach without the original square plate, or don't you need it. Anyone have one of these and repaired/replaced the PTO?

That model used 2 different pto's depending on the year it was made. I suggest that you go to this site and study the pictures. One picture is worth a thousand words.
