CC 1541 with 42" plow blade
Has anyone had success in increasing the blade travel. While I plan to add a wider scraper blade to the bottom of the plow to increase the down pressure on the dual hydro to provide a better driveway contact to scrape up snow, I have yet to figure out how to increase the up travel. Any ideas would be appreciated. Happy plowing!!!

The picture with the white sub frame is what is correct for the 1541, if the one that is yellow in the other picture is made for the later cyclops tractors.
Which one do you have |

I have the one on the left (white)

Make a shorter lift rod like the one in the left picture, it is adjustable, but there is only so much travel in the rock-shaft arm to raise and lower the plow.

Thanks for your feedback. After a lot of reading I learned that Xtreme Motor Works offers some custom parts that may solve the problem and increase the blade lift height and may also produce more down pressure for scraping hard snow off the driveway. I ordered the parts and will post the results when they are installed.

After a few hours of modifications the blade now lifts sky high! Had to pick up some Mapp gas to get the new straight lift rod hot enough to bend to clear the engine panels and most of the fiberglass side panel. The fiberglass engine side panel needed to be trimmed to allow the lift arm to travel. The new parts have yet to be painted. Dont expect support from Xtreme Motor works as my email was never responded to. If you have more metal working tools and experience than I do you can save some moola by making your own parts. Thanks and have a great day.

Aaron makes some really great parts. From what I understand its a one man show, which I could imagine might make it difficult to type out an email while welding or cutting parts etc. In my experience, the best way to get ahold of him is to call him during his business hours. The last time I called he picked up on the second ring and was eager to help.
Your lift rod looks great, glad it worked out! |

Thanks, Aaron finally answered my email and was helpful.

Great product
After using this mod for a long time I just wanted to comment on how pleased I am with the functions. Higher lift and more down pressure and adjustable. Its holding up very well.. Love it!

Thanks for the feedback.
My driveway is 40+ years old with tree root bumps. I use a wood 2x4 on the bottom so the metal scraper doesn't catch. I may try the Xtreme bracket for more lift and downforce. |
