Trunion Repair
Before I repair my trunnion on my 782 can anyone tell me is the trunnion pressed onto the hydro or is it keyed?

The trunion shaft is splined into a splined hole in the swash plate and it is retained in the spline with a coiled pin.
If you are in a roundabout way asking how to remove the trunion shaft, follow the instructions in the service manual. it requires total disassembly of the hydro. most are cautioned against disassembly unless they are mechanically inclined as it is not for the average person. Many parts lapped together and need upmost care to keep them and their mating parts together. BTDT A trunion repair can be done exteriorly but not shaft removal, also 3 out of the 4 seals can be replaced from the outside.:bigthink: |

The shaft is not splined, just pinned.

I would of sworn it was splined and pinned. Thanks Sam for the correction:beerchug: |
Hell, I thought it was welded, but wasn't for sure. :RedFace2:
