Compression check on K301
Is there any easy way to check for enough compression to start and run on a 12 hp Kohler or other Kohler with a compression release mechanism? Thanks, Carpetbagger

Yeah, remove the spark plug, cover the hole with your thumb and crank the engine. If it blows your thumb off it has enough to start, it may not have much power, but it should be enough to start. Also don't get the plug wire to close to your hand while you check, painful things happen.
