Who will out last whom?
I am near 73 and have owned a Cub 125 for 16 years. I bought it from a friend for one hundred dollars. I cut several acres weekly and run that old guy flat out.
I also cut, keep clear paths through the woods. Yes I beat it up and keep it together with spit and chewing gum. Also costly parts. I just purchased another 125 for backup. It has a nice deck and I am trying to get it running better. Anyway in looking for information I stumbled upon this site. Hope to meet and learn from people here. I am also a hot rod car guy and have built many old cars over the years. That is my stoy and I am sticking to it!:American Flag 1: |

Well, if you treat the Cub Cadet the way Northerners treat the cars,, the machine will be rusted out and you will be looking for another one,, So,, that is the reason you give to your spouse as to why you need ANOTHER Cub Cadet,,, :bigthink: NOW!! :biggrin2: - LOL!! |

It probably was a great deal, considering what this new crap costs, your 125 will still be able to run, when a new one your neighbor buys at Lowes is scrap... my neighbor across the street bought a new Husquavarna what, 5 years ago? and has what I call a small yard/ 95X160 just like mine... He died about 1-1/2 years ago, his 40-some yo daughter learned to run a rider mower on it last spring, called me because of a flat tire/ I started it up and that Kohler Courage is more than ready to spill its guts. She said it started knocking and smoking the last time it got used last fall, she made a bee line to the garage and there it sat til I started it up a few weeks ago.... while my 129 still runs great, just starting to smoke a bit, and IDK that it has ever been rebuilt in all those years....
heck you go buy a new Cub RER itll cost $1600.... the Troy version (Identical machine but red) is $1300..... I don't expect to last more than 3 seasons as "cheap" as it looks---- and that's on an in town yard, on flat ground, and not overtaxed by letting the grass get outta hand...… |
Welcome to the forum!
