Convert 1250 Manual Lift to Hydraulic?
 

What parts would I need to swap out the manual lift on my 1250 to hydraulic? I have a potential line on the ram, hoses, and valve (I think) that the hoses connect to, as well as the 2 steel lines.

It's been suggested that I use the CC Parts Lookup to find a diagram, but I can't get anything on the older, non-MTD Cubs on their website.

Does anyone have a diagram, or pictures of the hydraulic setup? I'm slowly putting this thing in a state to plow and till our big, empty front yard for gardening.

Click on the tab at the top page that Cub Cadet Parts and Service lookup. Plug in 1250 as the model number. Select 1250 assemblies. Wha-la...there are all the pages for the 1250. I just did it.

You’ll also need the cylinder mount, rock shaft, and valve actuation lever. I’m not sure if the 1250 dash tower has the provisions for the lever to pass through. If not, you’ll also need a dash tower for a 1450 or 1650 with single hydraulics.

First thing you need is a ported hydro if you don't have the ports in yours.

It looks like that may be a bit much then.

Perhaps it would be easier to make a homebrew lift spring assist assembly?

Spring assists are/were available for the QL's w/o hydraulic lift.

I know. I ask about fabricating one because it's much more cost effective. A complete used spring assist assembly is expensive.

As are most attachments for these machines.
Still, a heck of a lot cheaper than a new machine that will go to pot in a few years.

Ever price parts to O/H a late model, say a CH23!!!
Better be sitting down if you do!

I pulled off all the hyd lift goodies from a 1650 carcass that was missing too many parts to revive, and put it all onto a 129. wasn't that bad. I think I might have had to drill a hole or 2.
I notice the 1X9s that came with hyd were set up slightly different but set it up just as it had come off the 1650 so I could do the job with all parts on hand. and not have to go buy more. works great

I did that to my 1250. The tower has all the necessary holes. Bought the whole setup from somebody. It was bolt on and go. Hardest part was splitting the tractor to install the ported pump.
