Picked up a 1440 today
 

Seems like a decent unit. High hour, original owner swapped to an 18hp Vanguard.

Not really sure what made me bought it; the triple bagger worked really well on the maple leafs, but outside of that I'd never bag.

TBD if this is a keeper or a short term fling. Changed the oil, ordered an ignition switch, and will get tuned up tomorrow.

Definitely needs hydo oil...as for some reason, it's green? Didn't look to see if it has a filter or not. Plastic is OK, but not great.

that thing must have some good power with 18hp.

got any close up pics of how the bagger mounts on it. been looking for ideas on how to mount mine to a 1512.

I used to get green hydro oil from farm service in Eldridge IA
they insisted it was a direct "national brand" replacement for case hytran.
all I can say is it leaked just as much in our old Case 621 for 1/3 the cost.

It has Farm & Fleet's generic hytran now. Not going to put the good good stuff in a lawn mower. :beerchug:
