My Cub Cadets
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
Thought I would post what Cub Cadet I own and a little on how I got them. The first Cub Cadet is a 71 that I bought off the auction for $50. It was sold as not running but all I had to do was add gas and a battery and she started. It came with a mower deck and has creeper gear. My dad says why I got it so cheap because I bought it at the auction when I was 10 years old, he says people don't like biding against a 10 year old. The second Cub I bought, is a 1971 149. I bought it about 2 years later. I found it when I was selling boy scout popcorn. It was sitting by a tree and looked like it had not moved 3 or 4 years. I asked the guy about it and he said to make me an offer which I did of $500, and he said yes. The best thing is that it came with a mower deck, front blade, and a no. 1 tiller that has extensions. Right now the 149 is running well besides two engines mounted being broken. The tiller I have is getting put back to gather now. It had been torn down because the bearings were frozen and bad. The 71 is right now sitting on blocks because I ran out of money to but new tires on it. The old tire was falling apart. College is kinda taking all my money. Attached is a photo of my 149 on jacks as I am working on the engine mounts. It has its tire chains on and wheel weight (old gym weight about 54 lbs per side) as I was getting ready to clear snow but the broken engine mounts stopped that. I forgot to take a picture of the 71 and the rebuild of the tiller but I will post one latter. |

Here is a picture of my 71. Not a great picture since it is tucked away in the back of the shop.
Yes, Montana is a great winter wonderland but more manageable when you have a cub cadet to help move snow. I am up in Helena. |
Thanks for sharing your story and pics! Welcome to OCC.
