GT 2148 Not Starting

Hey guys, I have a GT2148 I bought several months ago used of course. I now have a starting issue with it. The problem started a couple days ago when I was picking up leaves, I shut the tractor off came back a couple hours later and it wouldn't start. It did nothing when I turned the key no click or anything. I did notice that my PTO switch was engaged so I clicked that off and then it started up. Next day it fired up fine, but when I engaged the PTO it stalled, I thought initially it wasn't warmed up enough so after a few minutes I tried again and it still stalled. Tried one more time, and after this try it would not start at all. Same thing no click, but lights turn on and everything else works. I've tested all the safety switches and checked battery voltage all those things appear to be ok. I also jumped the starter across the solenoid and it turned over but didn't start. I ordered some of those little black relays as my previous cub blew one of those and the PTO wouldn't engage. Am I on the right track any other ideas?

Sounds like an issue(s) with the PTO switch itself, or one of the safety switches.

It will not start up unless the Ignition Switch is in the "on or run" position.

First rule of repair:
Do not replace parts without diagnosis, unless you enjoy that sort of work and have plenty of money to spend needlessly.:beerchug:

Well, I figured I'd start with the relays first since they are pretty cheap and it never hurts to have a few of those kicking around...The only other thing I'm not exactly sure how to test is the starter solenoid, I suppose that could be a culprit as well.

You might try seeing if you have power to it, that might tell you something.
But that would fall under diagnostics. :bigthink:
